I totally forgot to tell you something about this year’s Walker Stalker Con! As you already probably know I went there last year and then two years ago as well so I thought I couldn’t miss it this time either. However, I have this impression that I’ve done what I wanted and have seen who I wanted to see so I’m not sure if I’ll go there next year… But it’s just my guess for now, it’s still a lot of time so we’ll see. Anyways, I had a very good time and this year Nathan and April were there with me. One day only but it’s something!
The line you can see in one of the photos above is nothing! Really. What happened later on was hard to even imagine even though I could see it and it was my third time there. In general I need to say that everything was better organized this time than last year and it was easier to know where to go for photos but unfortunately they still have some work to do. Especially volunteers who seemed like they didn’t know what was happening at all. So if you want to go next year in Atlanta, better have some more patience.
This time I bought one photo only but what kind! I met Jeffrey Dean Morgan and since I had April with me I could talk to him a little more than it was allowed ;). Very friendly man, really! I went to his panel and was amazed by his attitude towards fans. He didn’t have anyone who would host his panel, he himself decided what he’d say, what question he’ll answer, what he’ll do and so on. It was awesome! And I laughed a lot, he has a very good sense of humor.
I went to Rick’s panel as well and, let me tell you, I like him a lot but each time I see him I get this impression that he does it all because he feels obligated to… I don’t know how to explain. The whole event happens all over the USA, in England and I think Germany as well, but the only place he goes to is Atlanta. Of course he has his reasons and from what I heard he had some bad experiences with fans around 3 years ago, but I still think it’d be better if he wasn’t there at all if he forces himself. But I don’t know, it’s just my impression. Anyways, it was pretty cool to listen to him!
You can also wait in a regular line for photos / autographs. Some actors allow selfies and others don’t. And you obviously have to pay for it all. Prices for autographs with those more popular start at around $40, photos are more expensive. The picture of me, April and Morgan you see above was around $100, I don’t remember exactly anymore. And, just so you know, it all gets sold out pretty quick so if you want you have to get it as soon as you can.
I need to add here that if you really like this show and some random things then have cash. Not only can you buy shirts with all kinds of patterns (the average price for a t-shirt is $20) but also socks, skirts, scented leaves for cars, mugs, belts, earrings, magnets and many, many more. You can also get a tattoo or make up and look like a zombie. I bought a onesie and a jacket for April ;). The jacket has wings on its back… like Daryl’s vest!
I really recommend going to an event like this because the memories are awesome! Here I can only warn you that the convention in Atlanta is the biggest in the whole country with the highest amount of people so yeah the amount of guests is the highest as well but if you don’t like terrible crowds you might want to go somewhere else ;).
I’ll see you next time,
