#68 Breakfast with Aga – new posts series, weather in Georgia and more

Last week

I collected some questions from you and I’m going to write a Q&A post so if there’s anything else you’d like to know about me, the USA, au pair or anything else, leave the comments below :).

Also, next week from Monday through Friday every day around 10 pm I’m going to add posts with photos of what I ate during the day with nutritional values and so on so that you’ll see that my meals don’t contain of what banana or one mango only.

I bought a camera! For now I take all the pictures and videos using my phone and it started to annoy me that my battery goes down pretty fast because of the amount of time I use the phone for photos. And that’s not cool that when I was coming back home from Atlanta I had 3% only and panicked that it wasn’t enough to get to the interstate but fortunately I made it. Btw, my car charger broke and I bought a new one yesterday. Anyways, I wanted to buy a DSLR but after talking to Nathan I realized that for now it doesn’t make any sense because it’ll be hard for me to hold it for longer after the surgery and I won’t even go anywhere so I wouldn’t use it. So I bought a compact camera that will last for several months and later I’ll either sell it or keep it to have two for different occasions… depends.

April was climbing on her chair, then she would stand higher and then she would try to climb on a table to eventually get on our armchair… She wouldn’t make it herself so I helped her and she was very happy when she got to the chair :). Also, we left her at the gym in the kid’s club and they called us after ah hour (which is a great result) because April was already very upset. She was getting sleepy then which played a big role. One woman there told us that April didn’t even want to be held and she preferred to stand by the window looking away and cry. When she saw me she stopped crying and started yelling because she was so happy which was very cute. And recently she’s been stuck to me. When someone else wants to take her she pushes away, hold my arm and doesn’t want to go. And in situations like that I don’t give her to anyone just like this but I want for her to feel comfortable enough and to want to go. The weirdest thing is that it’s the same with Nathan! Sometimes when he takes her from me she starts crying and she calms down when I take her. I’m sure that it’s just a phase that will go away but I hope it won’t last too long because I’m not able to hold her for a long time so when I sometimes put her on the floor or give her to Nathan when she doesn’t want to go she cries and I really don’t like when she cries like that.

I told you that we had +24C on Christmas Eve, then I told you about the winter warning. Of course it got warm and since the day before we have +22C. Yesterday the Sun was so strong that I felt as if it was going to burn a hole in my jeans! Someone asked me on Instagram how I handle temperature swings like this… I don’t. Really, I have swings like that and every time they happen I freeze. And I’m serious, I shake because it’s so cold. I’m not used to it and I’m not able to adjust so fast. So when it’s really cold I usually just stay home unless I have to or really want to go somewhere. Fortunately these winter temperatures don’t stay for long so I don’t miss much!

Yes, I posted this song a while ago already but this week I keep listening to her over and over again. The best thing is that April reaaaally like it too!

On the Internet

One of my friends posted this on Facebook a while ago. It says “You’ll make it! You’re a mom”. Anyone feels like this? I do, often ;).

I told you about my plan for the next post series so now go ahead and follow me on Instagram. Help me reach my first 1.000 followers :D.

A year ago I added a video in which I talk about the au pair program, about the rules and all that. If you haven’t seen it, watch now! I speak Polish but I added English subtitles.

Rok temu dodałam wam filmik, w którym opowiadam o programie au pair, jego zasadach, o tym jak to wszystko wygląda. Jeśli jeszcze nie widzieliście to zapraszam!

.

Two years ago I added one of the most important posts in my life – the one about active listening. It’s still valid and I’m thinking about continuing this topic with examples from our lives and so on. We’ll see.

Active listening – what I learned about this and how it helps. [EN / PL]
