Gifts I got for my husband and daughters for Holidays

Buying gifts isn’t that easy not because there’s no choice in stores but because the choice is too big and some people get lost. That’s why later in Target I hear, for example, “she doesn’t play with dolls but she might like this one” or I see Alicia getting tons of things and then she’ll use a few of them for a week. A year ago she got an American Girl doll and she doesn’t play with dolls at all, she doesn’t have even one at home. And a person who gave it to her knew that. Why did she do that? Nobody knows.

For some time now there things have been pretty crazy in stores. I always like going to Target but now I hate it because there’s so many people that it’s almost impossible to go through, not mentioning lines even though all the registries are open. The worst… I mean, I don’t know, the best thing maybe is that so many things is on sale! And we get thousands of coupons by mail too. How to resist?

I always liked and still do giving gifts for all kinds of occasions and this is a great thing to see their reactions. I don’t go crazy though and I have my own limits not only if it comes to money but also like “I don’t buy trash”. That’s why sometimes my gifts might be very small but they always leave some cool memories or I make them by myself or they’ll be used in some way. You know that sometimes even socks can be a great gift?

I thought I’d show you what I got for my family this year!
..

Margie will get a photobook I made for her with pictures of Alicia and April. There are some photos with me and Nathan too but it’s mainly about the girls. I thought that a book like that is a great thing for someone who likes photos, who collects memories, is sentimental… And Margie is this kind of a person. I think it turned out great and I can’t wait to see her reaction! I made this book in a very fast and easy editor on Shutterfly.com and I had a coupon for a free photobook so I didn’t pay anything. I mean, I paid $4.99 for the box only.

This is how Alicia looked when she was a baby :).

And this is April!

This time Nathan will get something very simple – a soft pajamas because for a while now he’s been complaining that he doesn’t have anything comfortable to wear at home and I have awesome sweatpants ;). So he’ll have some now! I bought this in TJ Maxx for $24, the original price was almost $60 from what I remember.

You might remember when I told you that Alicia liked recording videos? She still does! So far she’s been using Nathan’s phone. I don’t give her mine since she totally broke his phone. So I thought I’d buy a camera for her! I found the one you can see in the photo below and I knew right then that it’ll be great. Alicia will be able to put it on a tripod, attach to her bike or even use it under water. Awesome! I bought it on Amazon for $34.

Alicia got a necklace from me too. A tiny heart was for her and a bigger one for me. A few days before but today was a great opportunity. She liked it a lot and let me tell you I had a tear in my eye. Not exactly because of the gift itself but because of the whole setting and I’d like to tell you but I won’t, I’ll keep it between us. I bought them on etsy.com for $54.

April will get something too! Since she likes things making noises I bought this toy for her. I think she’ll like it. I ordered it on BuyBuyBaby.com and paid $31 because I had a -20% coupon.

That’s all for now. Do you exchange gifts too :)?

The main post photo was taken a year ago.
